Supporting Our Church Family with Compassion

Need Help Dealing with Grief?

GriefShare Grief & Loss Support Groups Are Here for You

GriefShare is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. This 13-week support group helps you navigate grief’s unpredictability, offering valuable insight into what to expect and how to cope.

For over ten years, Anissa & Darrin Dickerson have led GriefShare at Family of Christ, sharing their own journey of grief and providing Christ-like healing support.

GriefShare is offered twice a year. To participate or ask questions, contact Anissa at dickerson3@comcast.net.

Family of Christ is a STEPHEN MINISTRY Congregation

Are you facing a challenging time, such as grief, divorce, job loss, or illness? Stephen Ministry offers confidential, one-on-one Christian care provided by trained congregation members.

Who benefits from Stephen Ministry?

  • Those receiving care through personal support, prayer, and guidance.
  • Stephen Ministers experience spiritual growth through meaningful ministry.
  • Our pastors and staff are able to extend care to more people, ensuring no one falls through the cracks.

Who are Stephen Ministers?

Caring for Caregivers Support Group

Being a caregiver for a loved one with a debilitating or terminal illness is rewarding yet often overwhelming. Our Caring for Caregivers group offers peer-led support, encouragement, prayer, and practical advice.

We meet the first Saturday of each month at 9:30am in the Family of Christ conference room. No matter what kind of caregiver you are, you are welcome to join.

Elijah Company

Elijah Company is a support group for parents, families, and friends of loved ones who struggle with their identity as a man or woman or identify as LGBTQ+.

Bi-weekly meetings consist of…

  • Bible Study
  • Prayer Ministry
  • Community Building

The goal is offering a place of refuge, support, encouragement, healing, and reconciliation for parents, families, and friends.

Why Elijah Company?

This group was designed to minister to the families and friends of people struggling with their identity as God has created them.

When a loved one announces, “I identify as LGBTQ+,” it is easy to feel like Elijah as he fled to Mount Horeb (Sinai) in 1Kings 19: overwhelmed, confused, defeated, and alone.

Group Boundaries

  •          Focused
  •          Confidential
  •          Safe

Meetings begin at Family of Christ on Tuesday, January 14, at 6:00PM and will last 90 minutes. Meetings take place the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
