Different churches use all sorts of names for Life Groups – small groups, home groups, cell groups, etc. Yet all would agree that Life Groups exist to build a close and fervent community that helps people become more like Jesus in every area of their lives. Here are a few powerful benefits of being in a Life Group…

  • Life change happens best in Life Groups. You might have a powerful weekend worship service with inspiring teaching and inspiring worship. However, life change happens best in circles, not rows.
  • Life Groups make churches personal. The research is in: the desire to find a few good friends is on the rise; and loneliness is increasing. Most people who have been a part of a Life Group say the greatest benefit is the close relationships and friendships that develop. The right kind of Life Group experience creates a sense of family.
  • You will understand the Bible better in a Life Group. If you´ve ever listened to a preacher and wanted to stop that person and say, "But what about...?" or "I don´t understand," then a Life Group is for you! Preaching is one-way communication that’s fine for imparting knowledge, but not as effective for personal application. In a small group setting you can ask questions and hear others share biblical insights that strengthen your faith and life application of the truth.
  • You will be able to handle stress and pressure better. Life Groups provide excellent support in times of crisis, change, and stress. You´ll have a deep sense of security knowing there are people who really care for you and are committed to standing with you between Sundays.

If you are one of those individuals, who is sitting on the fence wondering if you will participate or not, let me assure you that the return on your investment is well worth the cost.
